How does it work?
SilkPeel Dermalinfusion® stimulates
the skin to produce collagen by removing surface abnormalities
and allows better
penetration of other prescribed skin treatments. Additional
improvement is obtained with the application of specific
treatment solutions under pressure. All skin types
may be treated. SilkPeel Dermalinfusion® improves the
results of other treatments such as Renova®/Avage®,
glycolic/salicylic acid home treatment, soft tissue filling
injections,
BOTOX®Cosmetic
injections, IPL®, and prescription skin bleaches.
Do
you have a specific topical treatment for my skin condition?
SilkPeel® addresses
the most common skin conditions with topical treatments
for hydrating, bleaching, and acne.
What is the difference
between SilkPeel Dermalinfusion® and
Microdermabrasion?
SilkPeel Dermalinfusion® is
the only procedure that provides both non-invasive
exfoliation and delivery of skin-specific
topical solutions under pressure, leaving patients
with fresher-feeling and better-looking skin. SilkPeel® is
safe and painless, allowing patients to reap benefits
on an accelerated basis.
SilkPeel® is unique because it does not use crystals
or other abrasives particles.
What kind of results can I expect?
You can expect softening of fine lines from sun damage,
evening of surface pigmentation, increased smoothness,
and improved
natural glow and radiance. Patients with acne can
expect reduced acne and blackheads, and softening
of mild
acne scars.
When will I see results?
After one session skin feels smoother and has improved
glow. More improvement is seen gradually over
the initial treatment
series.
How long does each treatment take?
The procedure itself usually takes 20 minutes.
Does it hurt?
You may feel a mild exfoliation and tightening
that leaves the skin feeling healthy and
smooth. The moisture
of
the topical treatment also leaves your
skin with a cool, refreshed
feeling.
What will I look like immediately after
the procedure?
There is practically no down time for the
usual patient. You may apply makeup and
return to
work/activities immediately. Peeling or
crusting may occasionally
occur after treatment.
This most commonly occurs after treatment
for acne scars which requires more aggressive
treatment.
The
skin may
be pink for an hour after a treatment.
An area of skin may become
either lighter or darker than the surrounding
areas.
This is usually temporary. Sun protection
must be used daily
because skin is more sensitive to the sun
during the treatment series.
Patients who are prone to cold sore outbreaks
may need to take an antiviral medication
on treatment day to
prevent an outbreak which could spread
to the treated
skin and
cause
scarring.
Can I have SilkPeel® if I already had or am
planning to have other cosmetic procedures?
SilkPeel® is compatible with most cosmetic procedures.
We will help you develop a personal plan to achieve your
goals.
